About Emily

My name is Emily Lucy. I've dedicated my life to helping the voiceless. Born in Scotland, I faced bullying due to being different. Experiencing neglect at the hands of doctors and nurses, tube fed and denied any form of compassion, suffered 4th degree burns, disfiguring my upper body all before the age of 6. Something that made me feel not so isolated was the unconditional love given by my pets. My parents worked with disabled children and adults. College was a great chance for me to grow a skill that was useful for connecting with deaf individuals, because I graduated from Dundee and Angus College with a bachelors in fine arts and British sign language.

After higher education I moved to America and started my own dog boarding business which helped affirm what I knew as a child being bullied which is I love caring for animals as they give you so much love in return.I have fostered and adopted over 60+ animals while in America, ranging from severely disabled dogs to motherless kittens. In the US the non-profits I have worked with are SNARR, Shelter Chic, and Feline Victory Rescue, however my journey did not stop there.

When Covid-19 broke out I became a member of the Medical Reserve Corps providing essential help to the frontline health workers at the start of the Covid pandemic. I work in a make-shift tent, head to toe in a biohazard suit while collecting samples and making sure everything was done by the book.

Everything I have described is what has crystallized who I am today. A person who during the first week of Ukrainian war would fly over and work as a volunteer rescue worker.

Daisy, my first foster dog with SNARR March 2018- December 20th 2018. SNARR removed the cancer causing the football sized skull growth and we were preparing to start radiation but the cancer was too aggressive. After daisy, every female dog that i foster will be named after a flower.
